Before rolling up their sleeves in preparation for the warmer weather, many in the wine industry in the Eastern United States found their way to The Oncenter in Syracuse, NY for the Eastern Winery Exposition. This three-day event was held March 22-24.
The first day was packed full with varying workshops, covering a variety of troubles a wine maker may encounter or how to expand into cider or mead. The second and third days had a variety of seminars covering enology, viticulture, marketing, or a mix of the topics. Many seminars featured a wine tasting from a variety of wineries across the country. Forty-eight speakers participated in the sessions that were geared towards creating a better wine business.
During the expo, there were auctions and a “License to Steal” marketing conference as well as a trade show. The trade show had over 200 vendors and exhibitors, with many bringing their products for attendees to browse.
The 2018 Eastern Winery Exposition will be held in Lancaster, PA, March 6-8. For more information about the 2018 Eastern Winery Exposition or the 2017 Eastern Winery Exposition, go to www.easternwineryexposition.com .
